It’s only a few hours before the prom and you’re busy texting your friends about dresses, makeup, and hair. While thinking of these things, you might be forgetting the rest of you. Read on to learn about how to pamper yourself on prom day.
Food=Good
Although this would be the last thing that you would trouble yourself with, but you need to eat regular meals on the day of your prom. Fitting into your prom dress should not worry you because you will still certainly fit into it. Food maintains the balance in your sugar so you don’t feel nauseated, dizzy or worse.
The Rest of You
Time to pamper the outside of your body, now that you’ve taken care of the inside.
You will want your skin to be soft and smooth, so after your shower, remember to use a scented body lotion. A drugstore brand should do. Most are lightly scented, they smell great, and will make your skin glow. Don’t forget the elbows. It’s easy to ignore them because they are not in our field of vision and in effect they tend to become very dry.
Don’t Go Overboard
It’s fun to douse yourself with an eau de designer perfume. That’s part of the fun of dressing up, after all. But to avoid a dating disaster, go easy on the scent. We don’t even realize it but a lot of perfumes are very potent, so a little can go a long way. Plus, if your date is allergic or even slightly sensitive, you don’t want him sneezing on your shoulder all night long. The scent of the body lotion would be so much better than the perfume.
The Big Z-it
After all the worrying about prom night, you look in the mirror and you see a zit ᾢ don’t squeeze it and more importantly, don’t panic.
A good way to start is by washing your face with soap and water. Don’t scrub your skin. With a clean towel, pat it gently and leave it slightly damp. On your face, a very light, oil-free moisturizer should be applied.
Dig out your cover stick or foundation from your make up kit while your skin dries. Dot a bit of concealer, with the tip of your finger, around and over the area so that it blends with the clear skin surrounding it. Mix the cover stick with some moisturizer because it’s a very dry formula. Now that your spots are well-hidden, take your powder compact and very gently, pat your entire face with a powder puff. Over loading the puff with powder is not a good idea. Keep it very light or your skin will look like it’s been dusted with powdered sugar. Now that you’ve pampered yourself, time put on some makeup, zip up that dress, and off to the prom.
