When you walk around in any crowded place or observe people at any social gathering place, you will notice that they all have some things in common. Usually if you see a group of people together, there will be a common theme, something that makes them all look similar. It especially happens with kids and young adults.

They are so eager to fit in; they often copy one another without regard to how it looks from the outside. Fads and trends are often more of a young thing, with younger people falling victim to the shortsightedness of it all. These trends and fashions are often expressed in fashion and clothing. What is popular this year, not to cool down next year and the new age will be the thing very soon. It seems silly, once you grow and see what is most important, but when you are in the age group it affects, it really looks like a big deal.

Not wearing the right pair of sneakers or wearing a pair of jeans that were not the right wash are almost certain ostracizing and death to a teenager. Even not listening to the right music can be a hindrance if the wrong people know about it. Eventually you grow out of it and you stop caring what other people care and everything gets just a little bit better.

These fads come and go, but there are certain things that stick out there and there are certain fabrics that never go out of fashion. And remember, everything is cyclical and returned. In the nineties, we had to endure the sixties again when the children of the flower power generation is old enough to see what it was. Even bellbottoms and certain things from the seventies have reappeared again.

What was old becomes new again as new generations discover their parents’ old things in the attic and in the back of the closet. I am almost certain that the eighties will not return, but stranger things have happened and only time will tell. We could even see these baggy MC Hammer pants back in style.
