When Did You Start Having To Wear A Cool T-Shirt To Be Cool?

I am made aware that I am tragically uncool on a daily basis. All I have to do is go out in public, say to a mall, and watch the throngs of young people walk around in their cool t-shirts and designer haircuts. What is even worse, is that they all seem to look exactly the same to me. It’s like I’ve lost my ability to distinguish one face from another. There’s only so many ways you can wear your hair over one of your eyes and be considered “different”.

I have no idea when this transformation took place in my life. I never wanted to be the lame guy who doesn’t understand what the newest trend is all about. You should have seen me in the 80′s, man. I was a denim jacket wearing, acid-washed maniac. You couldn’t keep me out of the clubs, and you sure as heck couldn’t stop me from dancing. I was the epitome of cool

I’m not going to let anyone tell me about their silly theories of when a person shifts from the bright, shiny cool spectrum to the dark and dreary realms of the uncool. They will tell you it was getting married that does it. They will try to convince you that work makes you uncool. They will even try to make you think it’s your kids’ fault. How can that be true when I hate my job, don’t have kids, and never been married?

This doesn’t seem to be any kind of disorder that you can see a doctor for, either. If it were as simple as going to see the doctor, getting an “uncoolness vaccine”, and being issued a month-long supply of cool t-shirts to wear, then I would be jumping out of this chair and scheduling an appointment right away. I’m pretty sure that’s not the case, so maybe I just have to settle down into this state of being and be happy.

I am an accomplished professional, I pay my taxes, and I like to think that I live my life to the fullest. Why does that make me one of the people of the world who can’t be cool? Maybe there’s not enough rebellion in my life. Then again, maybe it’s the fact that I refuse to wear those stupid jeans and cool t-shirts that makes me a rebel, eh? Maybe I’m the cool one after all, and all of those kids are the ones who are lame…right? Maybe?

To fill your brain about cool t-shirts go to cool t-shirt to see how it’s done right.
