Dr Martens For Life Products

Dr Martens has a well-deserved reputation for making footwear of a very high quality that really lasts. However, not everyone realises that Dr Martens offers a range of footwear that is of such a high quality that they come with a genuine lifetime guarantee. The range includes shoes as well as boots and is called For Life. When you buy, footwear from this range should any element of the shoes or boots wear out Dr Martens will pay for the repair. In the rare event that a proper repair cannot be made Dr Martens will give you a brand new pair of shoes or boots in the same style. Only the foot bed and laces are not covered by the guarantee. You get a set of spare metal tipped laces free with each pair of new For Life boots or shoes. The guarantee is voided if you wear your For Life footwear in an industrial setting.

Dr Martens For Life range are built with extra care, the leather used is saturated with water resistant oils and a special wax coating. This makes the leather supple and soft, but durable.

A Goodyear Weld is used to join the upper to the sole, instead of glue. This weld on its own would last years, but to make sure that the upper does not come away from the sole they are also stitched together. Welding and stitching the boot makes them watertight.

The insole is made from fine leather to ensure it does not crack or split and will remain comfortable. Beneath the insole is a layer of carbon, which absorbs smells and kills off bacteria. This ensures that your DMs will stay odour free and reduces the risk of fungal foot infections.

Air cushioned soles are used for all Dr Martens boots and most of their shoes. Because you are literally walking on a cushion of air, your feet will be truly comfortable all day long. For Life soles are thicker than those on normal Dr Martens, the heel by 7mm and the forefoot by 5mm.
