Chains stored in a jewelry drawer or box usually manage to tangle or knot, meaning they must be freed before wearing. Pendants can get scratched by other pieces and settings, especially small ones, can be lost. A necklace tree can save you time while protecting your jewelry from damage.

Jewelry trees are available in a wide variety of materials. Among the least expensive are clear acrylic ones that let the jewelry be the focus. Some are fixed in position, but others spin to allow easy access to all pieces. Solid wood trees are also available and can be found in light or dark finishes. Metal trees are also plentiful, from economical pewter to more expensive sterling silver.

There are trees that are designed just for necklaces, but combination models are also available. In addition to necklaces, some styles will hold pierced and hoop earrings and others accommodate bracelets. Some have a bowl attached at the base to hold rings or other items. Spinner arms are common, while others are fixed. There are also styles that have rotating bases.

Designs range from simple geometric stands to intricate tree of life patterns. Other designs portray trees realistically, with leaves in place and a simulated bark finish. Futuristic or high tech designs can also be found that are twisted in intricate patterns and finished in gleaming metal.

Some designers use felt or even velvet to cover the trees for extra protection. This is most suitable for pieces that can be scratched or tangled easily. They provide an extra safeguard for pearls, heirloom items, or chains that are fine and delicate. If you just need to protect a few such items, you can buy felt pads that are back with adhesive to apply to your tree. You can find these online at craft supply dealers or locally at stores. You can also make your own from a piece of velvet or felt and then glue them where needed.

Take a look at what you need to hang before you purchase a tree. It is obvious that those without pierced ears do not need holes for studs or hoops. However, some overlook how long their favorite necklaces may be when they are shopping for a tree. The arms need to be placed at the proper height to keep pendants suspended. This means that if most of your necklaces are under 24 inches, a tree will need to be 12 inches or taller. Longer chains would have to be doubled to keep pendants from contacting the surface below and possibly being damaged.

Some styles have separate hooks or pegs for each individual necklace. Those that only have long arms may hold more, but normally will require you to remove multiple necklaces to reach the one you want. While the chains will be less likely to tangle than in a drawer or box, knotting can still occur.

Some people mount small shelves to display a necklace tree. When bedecked with your jewelry, it will become a unique decoration for your room. No matter where you choose to place it, it will add interest and protect your items simultaneously.

Have you read about the jewelry tree? Well, these unique style stands can be useful to keep your necklaces safe and non tangled. You are one step away from looking at some of the best designs of these necklace tree stands.

They've literally been around for centuries, but moccasins shoes are still hugely popular today. Sure, they've obviously evolved a good deal, but they're amazingly still relevant.

They’ve literally been around for centuries, but moccasins are still hugely popular today. Sure, they’ve obviously evolved a good deal, but they’re amazingly still relevant.

Few shoes can make such a claim, but the staying power of moccasin shoes is clear. With so many different brands and varieties available, just about anyone could buy a pair of moccasins that suits their preferences.

Moccasin shoes have their origins in Native American culture. These were worn for many centuries, as the deerskin leather used to make the shoes provided a warm layer of protection for the feet of hunters and gatherers.

Times have changed, and styles like suede and many others have come to the forefront with moccasins. Still, those with more classic preferences can easily find shoes that resemble those worn by the Native Americans.

Moccasins haven’t always been this popular though. It wasn’t until a few decades ago that they made their comeback into mainstream society.

While most dated fashion accessories that make a die out shortly thereafter, this wasn’t the case with respect to the moccasin shoe. They’ve literally remained in style ever since making their comeback.

One of the most popular forms of moccasin shoe these days is the moccasin boot. Take Minnetonka Moccasins, for example, who offer more moccasin boots than you could possibly imagine. Not only are the brown colors offered, but green, purple, and many other colors.

If you have toddlers, you may want to consider dressing them up in moccasins. They’re easy to put on, as many don’t require laces, and kids are very comfortable in them.

The best way to buy moccasin shoes is by looking online. There are many more options available for sale on the web than you’ll find in a local store, and the added benefit of customer feedback and competitive pricing goes a really long way.

Learn more about driving moccasins and other styles today.

When it comes to hobbies, quilting is still the most favorite one throughout the whole world. What makes it interesting is the choice of pattern from the different designs available that will be the basis of the project. Perhaps you are tired of doing the same patterns for your quilts. If you are looking for new patterns that are easy to do yet show new designs, here are some for you to choose. These patterns are good for newbie who are trying to learn the art of quilting. And because these patterns can be completed in less than 24 hours, you will surely produce more quilts in a week.

Whole cloth quilts. As the pattern implies, this style involves the sewing of the whole cloth as the pattern itself. With batting and backing, the pattern is easy to stitch as one piece. For some quilts starters, this pattern can be done faster once started.

Denim rag quilts. Since this pattern is very in demand, you will surely find it in many websites. This quilt is easy to do because the materials are readily available. Just recycle your old jeans and cut it into equally-sized squares. The end product is good to use as rag, comforter, or just a mat where you can lie down inside or outside the house.

Log Cabin quilts. This pattern is popular to some beginners because it is easy to do. If you are just starting, you will surely have an eye on this pattern. You just have to sew the fabrics in a straight line and your quilt is done. You can combine up to 13 kinds of colorful fabrics in one block to create this and you can even finish this in just one sitting or within 24 hours.

Quilting can be fun for people of all ages and it makes an awesome gift no matter what the occasion is. If you have an event coming up rather quickly, then you may want to go with one of the easy patterns above so that you can be sure to have the quilt completed in plenty of time. Even beginners can make beautiful quilts if they choose their fabrics carefully. They can go with a pattern that focuses on the fabric rather than the patter so that their quilt will be sure to be a success. No matter if you’re heading to a baby shower, a bridal shower or just a cookout to watch some fireworks, a quilt is the way to go.

Knitting has been a method of making cloth for centuries. Lately, it has shed its image of being an activity for grandmothers and has been enjoying a resurgence of popularity with people of all ages. The simple craft of making stitches from yarn with a couple of pointed sticks allows one to create items that are both practical and beautiful. Whether you prefe wash and wear or fine luxury fibers, you can always find something new to knit.

Most people envision bulky sweaters and tiny baby booties when they think of knitting. But knitting isn’t just limited to these items. Many knitters enjoy the process of exploring a variety of knitting projects. They might, for example, create a scarf and hat set one week, and a delicate sweater the next. Other knitters enjoy specializing in one type of item, like socks. Hand knitted socks can be a simple but enjoyable luxury.

Still others combine knitting with other arts. By knitting large versions of patterns for mittens, slippers and handbags, the finished pieces can be shrunk in the washing machine to create durable felted items that will last for years.

Skilled knitters create some of the most intricate works of art. For example, spiderweb lace shawls are so fine and delicate they seem to be made of gossamer. These shawls are usually created with luxury yarns like mohair, cashmere, and incredibly soft wool yarns.

Most knitted items can be made from inexpensive acrylic yarns, or from wool yarns that require a bit of extra care. Acrylic yarns are the least expensive, and can be purchased at almost any store. This is the perfect fiber for beginners, owing to its low cost and durability. Acrylic will last through the multiple rounds of re-stitching that novice knitters often require. Once you’re a bit more skilled with your knitting needles, you may want to try working with some more luxurious fibers. Merino wool yarn is wonderfully soft, and superwash merino won’t shrink, making it the perfect choice for socks.

Wool blends with mohair, angora, or cashmere are great for knitting items to keep warm in the winter, like sweaters, hats, and scarves. Wool yarns, like their acrylic counterparts, are available in an endless variety of colors and weights. The only limits are your creativity and your budget.

If you are just starting out with knitting, it’s a good idea to start with a kit that can provide you with introductory instruction in reading a knitting pattern and learning to do the basic stitches. Kits for hats and scarves are available in just about any craft or fabric store. Once you’ve got a handle on the basic knit and purl stitches, you’ll be ready for more advanced patterns. Most of the detailed work in knitted pieces involves a variation of these two stitches. As you gain skill and confidence, you’ll be ready to tackle ever more detailed projects. Be sure not to ignore the finishing details. This can make or break your piece, and can mean the difference between a beautiful piece and one that looks hastily thrown together. Some important finishing touches to remember are to block the finished piece into correct shape and weave in the tail ends of your yarn to hide them.

You’ll feel a sense of pride and accomplishment once you finish your projects and begin to wear them. Before long, you’ll be adept at knitting handmade gifts for friends and family that will be cherished through the years.
